pseudometastellopsis

n.

The sudden certainty, immediately after sending a message, that it contains a catastrophic error which, on anxious rereading, turns out not to exist.

From Greek ψευδής (pseudḗs, “false”) and metastellopsis.

Example Usage:

A: “Oh, for fuck’s sake.”

V: “What?”

A: “I’ve misspelled your name.”

[Frantic rereading]

A: “Phew, no. Just a pseudometastellopsis.”
